Photoboard 2.0 in progress - Running on 1.2/2.0 firmware emulator

This is an early preview of the next version of Photoboard App for iPhone / iPod Touch.

There are some new ways of moving the pictures :
- Moving several pictures at the time
- Moving / rotating the whole photo board
- Moving a picture while scrolling through the board

The previous "scaling by pinching" feature is missing in the video and still under development.
This version runs on the 1.2 firmware emulator (included in Apple SDK)

Note : It's not really exiting to use it with a mouse on the emulator...
I can't wait to test it on a real device, when the Apple Developer Program will be released, *officially* in June...

  • hi!

first of all, i think photoboard is a very good program, and i like it, but you could make somehow more practic. i mean, now i can move/zoom images, but whats the point?
my idea is that if we could use phootboard to organize our camera roll, that would be a big thing! for example, if you drop a picture in to the lower left corner, it puts the picture to the "family" folder, or if you put it in the lower right corner, photoboards puts the picture to the "friends" folder
    thanks:)

  • Hello,

That would be good indeed, a kind of group classification like keywords do but more visual/intuitive.

About the corners, I prefer not to use them yet because if the board is larger than the screen, I think I can add the "momentum" behavior on them, so they can slide out of the screen when released.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • hi cedSoft!

as the person above said, photoboard is very very good indeed. It is one of the few innovative concepts for the iphone/ipod touch which really brings forward the true potential of touch screen interface interaction.

i think it could even be integrated into the main menu,as microsoft surface. Organise folders, photos , videos, open up applications. that would be incredible. maybe I'm askin for a bit too much there :D

Anyway I saw the new version 0.5 with video playback, that is darn impressive
can't wait to try it out .
    awesome work.
    merci bcp !

  • I'm curious, what technologies (graphics library, image manipulation software, physics engine?) are you using?

  • Heya!
I like photoboard and it seems to me it would be very useful for zooming in on things like plans or technical drawings stored on your ipod.

The only thing is that iTunes 'optimizes' photos when it transfers them over, making them smaller, so that when you zoom in everything is blocky.

To what directory on my iPod Touch can I transfer full-size jpgs that I can view with Photoboard?
